HiWalking around my area of Shellharbour, about 150 Km S of Sydney, I have counted 6 young Koels in about a 5 Km radius, all being fed by worn out looking Red Wattlebirds. The parents are still hanging around but not "koelling", maybe waiting to pickup the kids. This is one of the best seasons for them that I remember but I have seen no young Channel-bill Cuckoos this year or last year, no resident Currawongs left may be the reason.
