Red-tailed Black-Cockatoos - Vict.

Re the distribution of black-cockatoos in Victoria.

I've just checked the data for these species in the Atlas of Victorian
Wildlife and can advise of the following:

Red-tailed Black-Cockatoo
The species is basically restricted to the far west of Victoria.
Specifically from about the Grampians west tyo South Australia  There are
some historic/vagrant records of the species from around Camperdown and
near Ballarat but none for the Geelong area or any further east.

Glossy Black-Cockatoo
This species is restricted to the far EAST of the state.  From about Lakes
Entrance to the border.  The Atlas has soem old ercords fro the
Starthbogies and the north-east (doubtful??) but no observations for
anything west of Western Port Bay.

Yellow-tailed Black-Cockatoo
This is by far the most common and widespread species of black-cockatoo in
Victoria.  I suggest this is what is being seen on the Bellarine Peninsula.
