Hi all, I've just subscribed - very impressed with the quality of correspondence!

I'm not an experienced 'watcher' but love birds and was very distressed to find the remains of a little flycatcher on the ground yesterday morning - just a few feathers of course.  It was all the worse because I had heard this little flycatcher (the mate of the victim) making very agitated noises early in the morning, had even got up to look! and saw him jumping & hopping around on the verandah - obviously trying to stop what was happening below (which I couldn't see).  And I ignored it!  Vaguely wondered what he was so excited about and went back to sleep!  I feel so bad - and angry!  I guess it was a cat, we have a few around that belong to people who just don't seem to know (or care) about the impact domestic cats have on our wildlife - any comments?  suggestions?  Jennie Towan
