Hi David
This is an interesting and unusual record for your
area.
From surveys of birds on the Liverpool Plains,
which re-commenced a few weeks ago, there were quite a number of channel-billed
cuckoos. In particular, there were some observations of channel-billed's
around the Boggabri, Gunnedah and Kelvin regions. This is quite unusual as
this species has previously been observed in the eastern sections of the Plains,
such as Quirindi and Werris Creek.
