This is of interest to intending visitors to Alice Springs.


I have been in contact with Power Water to clarify the situation.

As I understand it the following conditions apply at present.

Intending visitors to the ponds need to contact the Communication Officer on
89517340 to get a copy of the induction document, and then sign that they
have read it.  This can be done by fax.  A leader can do this on behalf of a
group, but needs to list all names.

Before entry the Communication Officer is to be notified.  Notification is
required again on departure.  There is an out of hours number for weekends
etc.

No key is required for the "hand" gate (pedestrian gate) at present.


The new system has been introduced because of concerns about legal
indemnity.
