Hi folks
Readers of the Cooloola Coast Times (A special feature of the Gympie Times)
will note that Kingfisher Rise Estate near Gympie is promoting itself with a
photograph of (what seems to me to be) an African species, the Pygmy
Kingfisher (Ispidina picta). The bird does not appear on their website.
Anyone care to comment on my identification?
Andrew
PS I was surprised that my recent posting on the bowers of Toothbilled
Catbirds (as observed by Adrian Walker) did not receive a single response!
Even if I must say so myself, it was one of the most interesting
observations posted on birding-aus for some time. My bowerbird book by
Chaffer refers only to Toothbilled Catbirds collecting leaves. Perhaps not
enough of you southerners are venturing to Far NQ?
