Hi All,
Just wondering if the galah E. rosiecapillus kuhli is officially recognised
as a definate subspecies?
There has been a unusual amount of interest in this subspecies by
aviculturalists in the last month or two (people wanting to purchase these
birds). Published works I have read list only two subspecies and either
don't list the northern kuhli at all or say it is a probable but
unrecognised subspecies. Anyone know of DNA or other work that has been
completed or someone who can confirm the status of this subspecies?
Wondering if it is truely a new subspecies or just some un-substantiated
hype by some aviculturalists to make a quick buck.
Thanks
Claire
