Following a thread from last week, there are historical records of Malleefowl not far from Geelong and Melbourne. I stumbled across this Sustainability Case Study from the WA Dept of Premier & Cabinet. The site has a map of records across all states dating back to the 19th century. There is some great reading here, including info about the excellent work done by the Malleefowl Preservation Group. http://www.sustainability.dpc.wa.gov.au/CaseStudies/OilMallee/ malleefowl/Malleefowl.htm Cheers Russell Woodford Birding-Aus List Owner Geelong Victoria Australia http://www.birding-aus.org Birding-Aus is now on the Web at www.birding-aus.org To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message "unsubscribe birding-aus" (no quotes, no Subject line) to |
