Black-faced Monarch

It not very often I get a new passerine species at Parkes NSW, but this afternoon as I walked the dogs on Bushmans Hill, in front of me was a single male Black-faced Monarch. He didn’t pick the best day to rest at Parkes, as we are about to have one hell of a dust storm.

The closest location I’ve seen Black-faced Monarch, was many years ago at Wombeyan Cave much further east.
