On Sunday I took par along with 8500 others in one of my endurance events
for the year the Around the Bay Cycle Ride (210 Km around Vicotira's Port
Phillip Bay. the weather for the first half was heavy rain and wind.
Nevertheless we ( Martin O'Brien another birding ausser was also on the
ride) managed to see and hear a few birds the list ( so far as I can
remember) was 28 species:
brown thornbill
silver gull
pacific gull
greenfinch
starling
Common Mynah
Galah
White browed Scrubwren
Rainbow lorikeet
Red-Rumped Parrot
Superb Fairy-wren
Welcome swallow
Brown Falcon
Little Raven
Magpie lark
Magpie
House Sparrow
Straw Necked Ibis
White faced Heron
Spotted Pardalote
Swamp Harrier
White-plumed Honeyeater
New Holland Honeyeater
Red Wattlebird
Feral Pigeon
Wood Duck
Spotted turtledove
Rufous Songlark
Hopefully I'll do better next sunday in the second endurance event - the
twitchathon.
