I found out about Brookfield conservation park from Peter Waanders' web pages - many thanks to him. The first mallee area I had been to with odd whistlers, whiteface, red kangaroos, lots of yellow-plumed HEs (+ spiny cheeked, singing, striped..),quail thrush, babblers..., southern hairy-nosed wombat... Peter also has other suggestions for the Blanchtown area and lists of Mallee birds: http://www.riverland.net.au/%7Epeterw/ You could have found this from Klaus Uhlenhut's Birdwatching Australia site: http://www.ausbird.com/ A great thing about Brookfield, in my experience, is that the police send a helicopter for you if you get lost. Best of luck Michael NOrris Birding-Aus is on the Web at www.shc.melb.catholic.edu.au/home/birding/index.html To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message "unsubscribe birding-aus" (no quotes, no Subject line) to |
