This morning on my way to feed the chooks "our" female Superb Lyrebird ran across the drive with a beakful of worms. I quietly followed and, sure enough, she had a young one one waiting in the bushes. They were here most of the morning, she busily scratching and collecting, the youngster bouncing around her waiting to be fed. I watched entranced and even forgave her for almost destroying the garden! Jill Hazelbrook, Blue Mountains.
