This afternoon i went down to Murgeboluc Recreation Reserve to see if any
waders had arrived.
There were a group of about 20 Red Necked Stints and single Sharp Tailed
Sandpiper.
Also in the swamp were large numbers of Black Winged Stilts, Black Fronted
Plovers, about 3 Red Kneed Dotterels, Shelducks, Coots, Black Swans and
probably many more waterfowl in a section of the swamp i couldn't see. Lots of
Welcome Swallows and a few Fairy Martins also hawking the insects over the
water.
The trees were also buzzing with activity with White plumed Honeyeaters, Galahs
and Black Faced Cuckoo Shrikes all attending to nests.
Other species seen were:
Silvereye, Red browed Finch, Crested Shrike Tit, Red Rumped Parrots, Grey
Shirke Thrush, New Holland HE's and Superb Fairy Wrens.
A lovely spot.
