Hi everyone, I was up in Queensland yesterday on business and checked out a place just off the freeway called Minnipi Wetlands (the turnoff was just before the Gateway bridge going north).

Not sure if this place is regularly visited by birders but in a quick 1 hour saw some interesting birds. These included many Scarlet Honeyeaters singing and flitting around in a number of areas throughout the parklands, a few Red-Backed Fairy Wren with a brilliant male, a large number of Brown Honeyeaters, a single Spangled Drongo, Golden Cisticollas and a Tawny Grassbird seen singing in scrub adjacent to the lake.

Not bad for a lunch stop!

Simon.
