Here are my best places (not in any order) for which I have been to:

1) Hunter region, NSW (including of course the East Maitland Tip)
2) The Wet Tropics region, QLD (Cairns, Daintree and the Atherton Tablelands)
3) The Pacific Ocean off Sydney/Wollongong, NSW (either viewing from Magic Pt in Maroubra or on a Pelagic, sometimes this can be the best place! but not so at the moment)
4) Cue-Mt Magnet area, WA (all that good Mulga area)
5) Werribee, VIC (lots and lots of waterbirds, waders, a couple of nice Parrots, many rarities etc)

My next ten would be (also not in any particular order):

6) Hawkesbury area, NSW (a good place for rarities)
7) Capertee Valley, NSW (the best woodland area in the country!)
8) Lockyer Valley, SEQ (some nice open country and great birds)
9) Round Hill NR, NSW (great mallee biridng)
10) Hattah NP, VIC (again great mallee birding)
