Hi Everyone,

Something that is puzzling me is the number of birds that are nesting while its still officially winter.  While we have been shivering in South-east Qld. (SEQ) with frosty mornings, the local magpie has been stealing some coconut fibre from my plant pots and is building a nest in the nearby flooded gum.  Yesterday while at Maroochy Botanical Gardens,  we saw an Eastern Yellow Robin sitting on a nest and a local told me this morning that he had seen two Dollarbirds on powerlines in Woombye last week.  Woombye is just south of Nambour.  Dollarbirds don't usually come back to SEQ until August/September do they?

With regard to songsters,  about 6 Golden Whistlers were singing their hearts out in Buderim Forest Park yesterday at the same site as though competing with one another as well as a few more over at the Gardens and the Fan-tailed Cuckoos have been very vocal as well.

Andrew, sorry if you've  missed the Scarlet Honeyeaters but they must be all at my place in Palmwoods.

Maybe spring is arriving next week - I hope so.
