Hi John,
Last year there was a male Superb Fairy-wren very similar to the one you
described at the Katoa Close end of the Warriewood Wetland boardwalk on
Sydney's Northern Beaches. It didn't hang around for long but I remember
seeing it on 2 or 3 visits. It was in full plumage so I assumed it was some
sort of melanistic aberration.
