Hi
I'd like to share!
I like to see locations in the reports and I believe any report without
some location data is useless. Sorry, Guys, but even if I might not be
able to see the particular bird mentioned, it's not much good when I
don't even know where it is to start with! I am not familiar with every
swamp and suburb, lake and area to recognise a spot or it's location and,
so far as I'm concerned, the report may as well be binned.
Yes, I'm in Qld, and, Yes, if somone sees something in Vic it's pretty
unlikely I'll see that particular bird, BUT, what I do do, is, save the
messages that provide field reports on areas with the hope that one day
I'll drive to Melbourne or Adelaide and, on the way, know where to go to
look for southern species. (I really must sort thru all that data....)
If one continues the argument that "..I'm not going to see that bird,
because it's too far away...." then tell me what's the point of reports
from pelagics??? Dam sure NONE of us are going to see those birds.......
Please, please, bear with those of us who like to know where and put in
an (relatively) accurate location, it is appreciated by those who want it
and may be ignored by those who don't....
Thanks,
