We heard at COG meeting last week, of a
Peregrine Falcon in Brindabella range somewhere (next to Canberra ACT) that
among other things had a Long-tailed Jaeger found as prey at its nest. How a sea
bird got there is a mystery. It was apparently identified at the museum in
Sydney. Thereby it joins the select small group of three pelagic species that
have been found (dead) in the Canberra region. I hope that the finder doesn't
mind me mentioning it here.

Peregrine Falcon kills White-bellied Sea-eagle
Hi all
Some years ago while surveying HMAS Cerberus
for birds I watched a Peregrine knock a White Ibis out of the sky while it
was flying with a group. Not quite a Sea Eagle but it was certainly
spectacular.
