Not personally Bruce (which
doesn't rule it out of course!) - but the other possibility is that they'll
go for maggots & whatever other insects might be on/in the carcass.
There was a debate on BA (or in a newsletter) years ago about what a
White-faced Heron was eating when seen perched on a roadkill 'roo and
apparently probing the carcass.
