There must be 100's of Pied Currawongs around
Ourimbah/ Narara on the Central coast NSW at the moment. I counted 50 in one
flock the other day that would only represent a small proportion. They are
feeding on fruiting privet and /or camphor laurel along the creek near the
railway line. They have been joined by relatively large number of Top-knot
Pigeons( Flocks of 30-50) and White-headed Pigeon. I saw 25 WHP's lined up
along an electricity line recently.
In addition there are largish flocks of the
Tasmania race of the Silvereye also feeding in the same area.
