G'day all I've seen a few Spoonbills (mostly Yellow-billed) feeding in paddocks lately, well away from water. Not much water around of course at present but I've never seen them in paddocks before. I would have thought their specialised bill would be unsuited to collecting insects from the ground. I haven't had a chance to watch their behavious carefully to date. Any comments?
