We looked out of the window this morning, here in suburban Heathmont (east of Melbourne) and saw an unusual bird perched in a tree. Not much bigger than a Spotted Turtledove or Red Wattlebird, both common, but different...a raptor?...yes, an immature Collared Sparrowhawk. Quite a sighting for the back yard.
