What I did not mention in this email is that there is also meant to be a pair of Powerful Owls in the Spotted Gum Forest along the northern end of the East Maitland tip (as according to the person running the tip). The eastern side is mainly open habitat where we once saw a Spotted Harrier patrolling this area last year. Certainly a great spot for raptors!
 
Rubbish Tips are great places to bird!
