The NPWS is considering replanting ornamental gardens and reinstating
riverside pleasure grounds for an Audley master plan. An Open Day is
planned as we are assured that the Service is interested to hear "why we
think Audley is a special place and what we would like to see there in the
future" The news article does not have a date for Open day, but is 11am -
1pm in Audley Dance Hall (can't say I've heard of the hall) and "the web
site has all details npws.nsw.gov.au" I did not find this to be so -
hope someone has better luck!
Personally I do not need any "pleasure grounds or ornamental gardens" the
native birds, native plants & trees will do just fine. The deer are still
a huge problem in the rainforest at Wattle Forest and other sites, however
it sounds as though they will fit in nicely with the new plan. Has anyone
more details? Judi Russill
