Glenise,
Hi how are you going, funny you should mention the sighting of the Scarlet Honeyeater, as two of the guy from work were up there last weekend for the National Swift Parrot Survey and spotted a female Scarlet Honeyeater, immediately south of Bendigo.  Also sighted Speckled Warbler (x2), Swift Parrot (x1) and Black Honeyeater (x1) to name a few.  There are only a few records of the species around Bendigo which have been recorded on the Atlas of Victorian Wildlife, mainly found througout East Gippsland, and a few records east of Melbourne.  Primarily inhabits coastal and near coastal woodlands.

Maybe we referring to the same area - who knows??

Great sighting maybe you might get a shot of it next time.

Good luck

Hello again,

To most of you this sighting would not be unusual but I live at Sedgwick, near Bendigo, and I can't remember this species being seen here before.

Bye for now, Glenise.
