I have just emailed a colleague (Dr Ian Norman) who has worked on seabird
islands in Victoria and he advised me as follows with respect to the
removal of introduced mammals.

He noted that as far as he knows the list of Victorian islands where any
eradication work is undertaken is very small. Specific comments he had
are:

Gabo Island (far east coast) - some attempt to get rid of cats; dont know
how successful
Phillip Island - fox control (in a limited fashion?)
Rabbit Island (Wilsons Promontory) - removal of rabbits
Mud Island (Port Phillip Bay) - ? rabbits removed
Lady Julia Percy (off Port Fairy, w Victorian coast) - rabbit control
action; Parks Victoria haven't finished.

As you can see, to date no attempt has been made to remove rats (if there
are any) from Victorian islands

cheers
