Frigatebird?

The weather that has plagued Sydney for a while now, has reached the Gold
Coast.

While trapped in heavy traffic, with heavy rain and strong winds, on the
motorway at the west of the Gold Coast, I saw a lone bird flying fast over
the road and off towards the coast.

Something about the bird made me have a (quick) second look. I am about
50-60% certain that it was a Frigatebird (probably Lesser). The general
shape and size, the wing shape and the "jizz" seemed right but I didn't see
the tail well enough to be certain. It really was a very quick sighting in
extreme conditions.

All those in the grip of the wild weather should keep a close watch. Many
species could be blown ashore.
