G'day all

I went looking for the Yellow Wagtail today. It was seen on Thurdsay at Stony Point east of Port MacDonnell in SA. I searched the area from 0930 to 1230 and again in the early afternoon without success. Rob Drummond was there for a short while and a group of four Adelaide folk but I don't think anyone saw the bird. A pity because it was in full breeding plumage apparently. Hopefully it will turn up again - and then find its way home.

Lots of other good birds around however so not a wasted effort. Double-banded Plovers were quite numerous along the rocky beaches and I saw one Whimbrel. Back at Nelson in Vic there was a Hobby in town, a Night-Heron and a Crested Grebe near the boat ramp, a couple of Caspian Terns in the estuary and a few Bar-tailed Godwits near the river mouth.

Cheers

Steve
