Hi all, Val Curtis, I have mentioned the subject of dialects previously. A couple of years ago I was at Mt Hotham and noticed how different the Yellow faced Honey eater calls were to those I am familiar with in Sydney. I raise the question, would the dialect be different on a sonagram. If so could,nt this be used to track the migration of this species and others, it would be a dammed sight easier than banding.
I have also found this dialect in other species when on the Gold Coast but dont remember which species. What do you think?
