Sometimes, despite all your efforts, the animal is still suffering and beyond recovery. If you are unable to get professional assistance and it looks as though the animal might die, please allow it to do so quietly and with dignity.

If it is an unusual species, it may be of scientific interest, even if it is DEAD.
Details on a label, who found it, where, when and what happened to it to the best of your knowledge.
Place the label and dead animal in a sealable plastic bag and freeze it.
IF? you feel that the animal died from unnatural causes such as poisoning, refrigeration is preferable to freezing.
The dead animal MUST be passed on to either the Parks and Wildlife Service or a public museum.

I am trying at present to get public museums and the Parks and Gardens Wildlife service to mail out thee appropiate mail containers in reply to email requests from people for this particular subject matter.

Bob Hope springs eternal, it's bit like asking Govt's to stop putting a large demand on paper manufacturers, you wouldn't believe it was us Ozzies that invented computers eh? yet again dumb polly Tea Shuns eh?

Ooroo and good luck, John
