For all those people who objected to the fact that muscovy ducks ate the young of other native species. And wanted written text as proof that they do,here it is. < In Birds of Sydney 1993 Ern Hoskin wrote. 'Muscovy Duck Cairina moschata, 650-890 mm.Blackish-green with red warty prominences;large white patch on wings; bill black. Largely a native of northern and Central South America. a large domestic duck which often interbreeds with the mallard. various coloured plumaged mutants are seen in some parks, caused by interbreeding with other domestic varieties. The young of native species are sometimes eaten by the aggresive muscovy.'> Cheers Kurtis |
