g'day all,

Further to Tom Dickson's note.

The possibility of the Barn Owl being responsible for the Min-Min light in Australia or "Will o' the Wisp" in England was the subject of a paper by Fred Silcock "A review of accounts of luminosity in Barn Owls Tyto alba" , in Australian Raptor Studies 2, 1997, (Birds Australia Monograph No. 3) p40-53 and edited by Gregory Czechura and Stephen Debus.

This paper included many references.

Some other references are on the WWW

OWLS, GHOST STORIES & THE MIN-MIN LIGHT (extract)

(I had to print this out to read it)

Australian Raptor News

Regards
