Alastair, I think they operate on the 'better safe than sorry principle'. I have a rooster that gives an alarm call when anything larger than a Willie Wagtail flies past. This includes Bar-shouldered Doves, White-faced Herons and Little Pied Cormorants, all birds offering no threat at all. Paul Osborn |
