Hi all

I have been keeping an extra eye skywards recently looking for Fork-tailed Swifts and the remote possibility of another House Swift or something else. Plenty of White throated Needletails around as follows :

13/2/03

1 only heading north-east at 8 P.M. 30% cloud cover, no wind, 32 degrees.

14/2/03

about 40 heading north at 7.30 A.M. following an early morning rain squall , 8 mm, 90% cloud cover,no wind, 28 degrees

14/2/03

around 300 soaring above our highest hills from 6.45 P.M. to 7.45 P.M., 20% cloud cover , south-easterly breeze about 10km/hour, 28 degrees. About a dozen or so heading north east on dusk. Heading to a roosting tree somewhere perhaps ?

15/2/03

6 soaring very high above our house ( only specs in the binoculars) around 6 P.M., very light breeze, 32 degrees.

16/2/03

10 flying low over the trees in Dungog township itself around 11 A.M. All other sightings have been at home, 7 kms north west of Dungog.

16/2/03

3 heading directly north around 7.15 P.M. 90% cloud cover , no wind, 27 degrees.

Cheers
