I need to take my socks off, not that I ever wear any, horrible things, in order to count the numbers of Muskies, Purple-crowns, and New Holland H/Es  currently feeding in the big old River Red Gum in my garden. It started flowering a few days ago and the bird noise out there is deafening. There are millions of opercula forming nearly a matting on the ground underneath the tree.  No chance of a nap today !
