Laurie Many thanks for that web reference to the piece in today's Age. It must have been written by that very rare creature - a journo who can write well and knows in detail and depth what s/he is talking about (accurate, no padding, lots of angles). My only quibble is that I would have preferred a Melbourne paper to have mentioned eucalpyts, as well as grevilleas and banksias, as encouraging the Noisy Miners. Around here in Bayside naturalists have been lobbying for more than a decade to replace some of the planted gum trees with more helpful species. Anyhow, congratulations to the author - who the printed newspaper says is none other than our own Greg Roberts!
