Hi all, What a hell of a hot day it was
yesterday, spent most of the morning at Boat Harbour where there was a lovely
cool sea breeze, saw a Red-necked Stint with orange flag on right leg. also a
Little Tern with Black over silver on right leg and blue over silver on left
leg.
Called in at Mason Park must have been 45+ you
could not touch the tripod it got so hot. There was about 70 Sharpies feeding
with 20 Curlews SPs all the Sharpies had there mantle feathers raised about
50degrees to their back,
presume this is a method of
cooling.
There were also about 30 Forktailed Swifts feeding
over the Fruit Bat colony at the entrance to Boat Harbour, sorry Edwin, or
have you managed to tick this one as there have been many sightings this
year.
The above locations are all suburbs of Sydney for
those that don't know.
