Given the horrific bushfire season we are having (and the prospect of more
in the future) does anyone know if anything has been written on this
subject?

I realise that must be considerable short-term disruption due to dislocation
of populations and to destruction of habitat and of food sources, but are
there also some positive long-term effects (such as creation of more dead
trees/nesting hollows, for example) or not?

Regards
