Hi all,

I'm in the planning stages of a trip through the centre, Kimberley, Top
End, cape York and FNQ, before heading back down the coast. Some sites
I'm looking at going to include Uluru, West Mc Donnells and other
regions round there, followed by Newhaven, then crossing the Tanami to
the Bungles.

Next is the Kimberley including Broome, Cape Leveque, Derby, Gibb River
Rd, Mitchell Falls, Wyndham, Kunnanurra, Then Darwin, Katherine,
Kakadu. Next is the Gulf, Lawn Hill and across to Atherton, Daintree,
Cooktown, Lakefield, Iron Range and the top. Coming back to Cairns and
the coast south of there, before heading back to Sydney, 5 months
later. We'll be travelling by 4WD with a capable off road camper
trailer, so should be able to access most spots.

I'm looking for suggestions of good places to visit to see endemics and
harder to find birds, as well as quiet spots to camp that have good
birding around them in the morning. I'll have my wife and daughter
along so early morning forays would particularly suit the trip. I'm
also a keen bird photographer, so suggestions of spots for this would be
appreciated.

Specifically does anyone know anything about the Pajinka lodge on the
tip of Cape York, reports have it abandoned, but I found a web site
reporting it would open in Jun 2003.

If anyone can offer some suggestions or links to other resources, I'd
appreciate it. You can reply to me off line if you'd like.

thanks and regards,

Chris Ross
