Hi all and Happy New Year A question!! Is it the case that some Swift Parrots remain in coastal Victoria over the Summer? My Daughter, a novice birder, is quite convinced she had three SP's in her garden at Jan Juc (near Torquay, on the coast, 120 Kms SW of Melbourne) actively feeding in a flowering Eucalypt. She had excellent views for around 10 mins, seeing underwing, and all other relevant markings, size, etc. She then clearly identified them in her S & D Field Guide, without realising that they are both uncommon and supposed to be in Tas. at this time of the year. Is this very unusual, normal or totally unbelievable???
