Swift Parrots

Hi all and Happy New Year

A question!! Is it the case that some Swift Parrots remain in coastal
Victoria over the Summer? My Daughter, a novice birder, is quite convinced
she had three SP's in her garden at Jan Juc (near Torquay, on the coast, 120
Kms SW of Melbourne) actively feeding in a flowering Eucalypt. She had
excellent views for around 10 mins, seeing underwing, and all other relevant
markings, size, etc. She then clearly identified them in her S & D Field
Guide, without realising that they are both uncommon and supposed to be in
Tas. at this time of the year.

Is this very unusual, normal or totally unbelievable???

Regards
Bob Cook
