Hi everyone (and Happy New Year!),
I only had a short break over the Xmas period, so unfortunately very limited
birding opportunities.
A couple of highlights, however, were a great (as always) trip to Werribee,
recording
around 63 spp. (best birds and lifers for me included Ruddy Turnstone and
Pacific Golden Plover at
Kirk Pt., Red Knot/Great Knot/Marsh Sandpiper at Austin Rd and then up to
the You Yangs for an extra 45 spp.,
highlight being a Speckled Warbler.
As mentioned by many others, congratulations to Sean on a remarkable effort
to reach over 700!
His regular reports will be sorely missed - I'm waiting eagerly for the book
and film!
Cheers,
Greg
PS. Does anyone have a reliable area for Striated Fieldwren and
Chestnut-rumped Heathwren?
