I also saw around a dozen Fork-tailed Swifts over Cape Paterson on the 29th,
at about 7:30pm, coming in with the storm front. A new species for me,
which was very nice. Also, this morning we had around 50-100 White-throated
needletails coming in with the next front.

I arrived home a few minutes ago just in time to see a flock of about 60-80
Fork-tailed Swifts circling above our house. I guess there could have been
lots more ahead of them. I haven't recorded this species often around
Geelong - it's a new species for my "backyard" list - rather nice as we're
moving to a new backyard in a few days.
There's a front moving through this part of the state from the west, with
fairly strong NE winds at present, and storms predicted. Fairly typical
weather for swifts.
