I received a report tonight (29/12) from Marcus Singor that the Freckled
Ducks at Maurice Hamer Park at Herdsman Lake have now increased to between
95 and 120.
How do they all know to turn up there in one place? There have only been up to 3 there over summer the past few years? Bigger numbers (30+) have tended to go to Lake Carine in previous years but this may be dry by now. Why don't they spread themselves over all the other wetlands (e.g. Lake Joondalup, Bayswater Bird Sanctuary, Bibra Lake, Kogolup Lake, Lake Monger, Booragoon Lake, etc)? ___________________________________________________________________ Frank O'Connor Birding WA http://members.iinet.net.au/~foconnor Phone : (08) 9386 5694 Email : Birding-Aus is on the Web at www.shc.melb.catholic.edu.au/home/birding/index.html To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message "unsubscribe birding-aus" (no quotes, no Subject line) to |
