> Chiltern was good but seemed fairly mediocre compared to Mt Pilot. 

Chiltern is utterly unbeatable in Winter of a 'normal' year (ie. when it
rains and the Mugga Ironbark flowers).  "You should have been here back
in the winter of XXXX, in the latter days of last century ..." and so
on.

As for Mount Pilot - just as well then that it's going into national
park at last - combined with Chiltern to become Chiltern - Mount Pilot
National Park.

All of this is in NE Victoria for anyone who is wondering .....
