They
turn up in odd places. There used to be a number in the Lockyer Valley near
Minden, although I haven't seen them lately there and I met a flock, years
ago, near the Sterling Ranges in WA. I don't tick
them.

Hi Everyone,
I was at Lerderderg Gorge near Bacchus Marsh,
Victoria with some friends on Sunday and saw a Helmeted Guinea Fowl
feeding on the lawn near the picnic area. It eventually made its way up a hill
and disappeared into the scrub. Does anyone know whether this bird would be an
escapee, or if there is a feral population in this area. I could only find
records of feral populations of this species in north
Queensland.
Cheers Paul.
