Dear Birding-Ausers,

As you may be aware, I organise pelagic boat trips from Eaglehawk Neck on a
casual basis with Bill Wakefield of Tasmania.

We are scheduling three trips next year on 23 February, 21 September and 23
November. I am opening bookings for these trips if anyone wishes to register an
interest. Please ask if you want further details.

We are avoiding winter next year, mostly because I am lead to believe that Birds
Australia is contemplating some June trips as part of one of its conferences. I
don't have the details but I presume something will be forthcoming from BA.

We have run two trips already this year. One in February and one in September
and I have posted trip reports on Birding-Aus. We have one more to run on 24
November, but at this stage it is fully booked. However, I don't have a waiting
list, so if you want to be an emergency, let me know.

The east coast of Tasmania is unusual because boat trips get out in weather
conditions that would be considered extreme in many other places, particularly
Port Fairy, which I have a bit of experience with. However, Tasmania itself
provides lots of protection for the east coast and the boat gets out most times
- quite safely. (Except for last June long weekend.) Cost is approximately $80
if we get a full boat.

So, if you want a pelagic off Tasmania, here's your chance.

Chris
