No new trapping licences will be issued for 5 years

Hunting and trapping were two of the most controversial issues in the
environment chapter of European Union negotiations which Malta closed yesterday.

Malta has been granted a transitional period were spring hunting will still be permitted if it is successful in it's attempts to join the EU.
