Here in Orange I live in villa which backs onto a small park, it's wonderful to have a backyard that the council looks after. So far this park has produced 28 birds. The park is basically a grass area with some poplars and a few small eucalypts planted along my fenceline.Highlights have been watching Black Ducks swimming in puddles in the park (usually when the local swimming pool gets drained), having a Peregrine Falcon drop a decapitated pigeon along my fence and today I watched a female and immature Red Capped Robin hopping around on the grass. These are amongst my favourite small birds so I'm eagerly looking out for any males. Ahhh Orange is a wonderful place to live.
