I've been updating the CHECKLISTS area on the Birding-Aus website, and I
must let everyone know about the new website of the Tasmanian DPIEW - here's
a snippet of text from the b-a site:

The Department of Primary Industries, Water and Environment has an excellent
new website. The Parks and Wildlife section includes a state birds checklist
as well as a list of Tasmanian endemics. The endemics list includes
information and the call for each species (playable online) as well as
photographs or video for most. Significant other species also have their own
information page linked from the main checklist - some of these contain
images and audio.

This website is one of the most informative sites of its type, and shoudl
serve as a model for future wildlife sites.

The links didn't get copied/pasted so here's the page to get to the Bird
stuff. It really is a well-constructed website. Thanks to Bob Forsyth for
the info.
